The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey has opened up about the upcoming first season finale, which she believes will be quite divisive.

In an interview with British Vogue, the actress was asked about the recent eighth episode, which saw Ellie face off against the menacing settlement leader David on her own. Ramsey explained that filming the penultimate installment was exhausting but enjoyable.

“It was … exhausting, but those were some of my favorite days on set,” Ramsey said. “That sounds really masochistic, but it’s the scenes that break me that I love the most, in a way.”

The star was then asked about the series finale, which is set to air this coming Sunday. “It’s going to divide people massively — massively,” Ramsey explained.

“The live-action series takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed,” reads the synopsis. “Joel and Ellie, a pair connected through the harshness of the world they live in, are forced to endure brutal circumstances and ruthless killers on a trek across a post-pandemic America.”

The Last of Us is now available to watch on HBO and HBO Max.
