FX has released an official trailer for The Patient, the upcoming psychological thriller miniseries starring Steve Carell (The Office) and Domhnall Gleeson (Harry Potter films). The video features a therapist who gets held captive by one of his patients who turns out to be a serial killer. The limited drama will be available for streaming on August 30, exclusively on Hulu.

The Patient is written and executive produced by Joel Fields and Joe Weisberg. Joining Carell and Gleeson are Linda Edmond, David Alan Grier, Laura Niemi, Alex Rich, and Andrew Leeds.
“The series follows Alan Strauss, a therapist who is held prisoner by patient Sam Fortner who reveals himself to be a serial killer,” reads the synopsis. “With time running out, Alan fights desperately to stop Sam before Alan becomes complicit in Sam’s murders or worse – becomes a target himself.”

Executive producers are Carell, Caroline Moore, Victor Hsu, and Chris Long. It is produced by FX Productions.
