Jack Ryan, season 4, spinoff

The third season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan hasn’t yet premiered, but the Prime Video series already has an end date. Deadline reports that the fourth season of Jack Ryan, which is currently filming, will be the last. Still, it may not be the end of the Jack Ryan franchise as a spinoff featuring Michael Peña as Domingo “Ding” Chavez is being considered.

Jack Ryan stars John Krasinski as the titular CIA analyst, making him the fifth actor to play the role behind Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine. Deadline says that Krasinski had signed on to play the character for just four seasons since the beginning, and although the show is coming to a close, fans still have two full seasons to look forward to. As for the Jack Ryan spinoff, that project is still in the very early stages. Michael Peña will make his debut as Domingo Chavez in the third season’s final episode before taking on a much more significant role in the fourth season. The character joined the CIA out of the United States Army and acted as the executive officer of the multinational counter-terrorism unit code-named Rainbow. He has appeared in nearly two dozen novels in the Jack Ryan Universe and was portrayed on the big screen by Raymond Cruz in Clear and Present Danger.

The third season of the series will find Jack Ryan on the run and in a race against time. Jack is wrongly implicated in a larger conspiracy and suddenly finds himself a fugitive out in the cold. Now, wanted by both the CIA and an international rogue faction that he has uncovered, Jack is forced underground, crisscrossing Europe, trying to stay alive and prevent a massive global conflict. Prime Video hasn’t revealed the new season’s premiere date yet, but it will likely hit the streaming service later this year.
