Alden Ehrenreich, Ironheart, Solo: A Star Wars Story

From the Star Wars universe to the Marvel Cinematic Universe — Deadline has reported that Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story) has joined the cast of Marvel’s Ironheart series in what’s being described as a key role.

It’s not known who Alden Ehrenreich will be playing in Ironheart and Marvel declined to comment, but I’m sure he’ll make a wonderful addition to the series. Ironheart stars Dominique Thorne (Judas and the Black Messiah) as Riri Williams, “a genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man.” In addition to Thorne and Alden Ehrenreich, Ironheart will also star Lyric Ross (This is Us) as Riri Williams’ best friend, Manny Montana (Mayans M.C.) in an unknown role, and Anthony Ramos (In the Heights) as a mystery character rumoured to be the villain. The series is being helmed by Sam Bailey (Dear White People) and Angela Barnes (Atlanta), with Black Panther director Ryan Coogler executive producing the series.

Riri Williams will actually make her first appearance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which will hit theaters on November 11, 2022. The first look at her costume in the Black Panther sequel was recently revealed due to some merch. Riri Williams was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato back in 2016 and introduced as a 15-year-old MIT student who managed to reverse engineer Iron Man’s armor to create her own and caught the attention of Tony Stark himself.

Alden Ehrenreich will next be seen in Elizabeth Banks’ Cocaine Bear, which will be released on February 24, 2023. He also recently wrapped production on Christopher Nolan’s star-studded Oppenheimer. The film boasts a cast that includes Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Gary Oldman, and more. Oppenheimer will be released on July 21, 2023.
