The Venom 3 cast is expanding as Sony has found a co-star for the upcoming Tom Hardy-led superhero movie as Ted Lasso star Juno Temple has come on board.

Per Deadline, Temple will co-star in the movie. Representatives for both Sony and Temple declined to comment, but she is reportedly in advanced negotiations. No word yet on who Temple will play in Sony’s Spider-Man universe, but she is best known for playing Keeley Jones in Ted Lasso.

Temple also had celebrated roles in other projects, such as Vinyl and Atonement. She’ll next be seen in the FX anthology series Fargo. She’s the first addition to the Venom 3 cast so far.

Following its theatrical release on October 1, 2021, Venom: Let There Be Carnage broke pandemic box office records by becoming 2021’s second highest-grossing film in the U.S. with a domestic gross of over $200 million and a worldwide gross of over $480 million. Combined, the two Venom movies have grossed $1.36 billion worldwide.

Venom 3 will be directed by Kelly Marcel, who is also writing the film. Marcel previously wrote both 2018’s Venom and its sequel, along with Fifty Shades of Grey and Saving Mr. Banks. It will once again star Tom Hardy and be produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker.
