It was obvious that The Queen’s Gambit Chess was going to be a chess game, given the subject matter. However, Netflix released a longer trailer about the digital board game to give players a better look at what the license brings to the table.

The Queen’s Gambit Chess trailer shows a handful of locations

The latest trailer for the board game isn’t the most detailed breakdown, but does show a number of different locations and styles that all add their own flavor to chess. Some duels take place on fancy boards, while others are more abstract and are played on a chalkboard or a checkerboard with 2D pieces. It also once again heavily implies that players won’t actually play as Beth Harmon, but just be in her world.

Netflix already confirmed that The Queen’s Gambit Chess would be releasing on mobile platforms for subscribers on July 25. This is just one of the marquee games Netflix Games has lined up for the season, as the others include Oxenfree II: Lost Signals, Cut the Rope Daily, Lego Legacy: Heroes Unboxed, and Paper Trail.
