Shout Factory is released The Police Academy Collection in November, a new Blu-ray set with all seven movies in the comedy franchise.
Shout Factory announced today that they will be releasing The Police Academy Collection, a Blu-ray set that will feature all seven movies in the comedy series. The set will be available on November 21st.
The first movie in the Police Academy franchise kicked off the premise when a newly elected mayor announced a policy that required the police department to accept all willing recruits. This leads to a group of misfits attempting to prove themselves as police officers, and naturally, hilarity ensues. Steve Guttenberg starred as Carey Mahoney in the first four movies.

- Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol (1987)

- Police Academy 6: City Under Siege (1989)
- Police Academy: Mission to Moscow (1994)
The only actors who appeared in all seven Police Academy movies were George Gaynes (Eric Lassard), David Graf (Eugene Tackleberry), and Micahel Winslow (Larvell Jones). There’s been talk of an eighth installment for quite some time, but so far, nothing has materialized. Steve Guttenberg offered the last update in 2018, when he said that a new Police Academy movie was still on the way, but offered few details beyond that.
“The call went out. The recruits came in. No longer would police cadets have to meet standards of height, weight and other pesky requirements. Brains were optional, too. Can’t spell IQ? Don’t know the number for 911? No matter,” reads the official Police Academy Collection Blu-ray description. “Police Academy grads are ready to uphold law and disorder! Among the funniest and most memorable comedy series to ever spill wildly across the screen, the Police Academy films are an absolutely mandatory part of any film collection! And hey … be careful out there.“
There’s no word on what special features will be available with the Police Academy Collection Blu-ray, with Shout Factory only saying, “Extras in progress and will be announced at a later date.” According to the official Shout Factory site, the set will run you $97.
