Thanks to your nominations, we have compiled the final list of nominees for The 20th Annual Golden Schmoes, honoring the movies of 2021! Final voting is on now runs until March 19th, with winners to be announced on Friday, March 21st, with the Oscars set to happen just over a week later, on Sunday, March 27th. For those experiencing the Golden Schmoes for the first time CLICK HERE to see what it’s all about. You can get a ton more info in our FAQ, but the process is a piece of cake and lots of fun. Even if you didn’t take part in the nominations part of the process, you can still help vote for the winners.

As expected, Spider-Man: No Way Home was the most nominated movie of the year, counting a solid 15 nominations and being nominated numerous times in multiple categories.

MOST NOMINATIONS BY FILM:

Spider-Man: No Way Home: 15 nominations

Dune: 12 nominations

Nobody: 6 nominations

No Time to Die: 5 nominations

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings: 5 nominations

No records were broken in terms of MOST nominations (which to this day still belongs to Christopher Nolan’s Inception with 19 nominations). Still, one thing worth noting is the amazing diversity of 2021 films chosen for this year’s Golden Schmoes. I think the fan community is often looked down on by critics who assume we’ll only watch comic book movies, but movies like The Power of the Dog and Licorice Pizza earned 4 nominations each, while a lot of neglected films such as The Last Duel and The Green Knight got tons of love, and Nicolas Cage earned a much-deserved nod for his standout work in Pig. Nominations like this make me proud to be part of the community!
