Netflix has dropped the first Bodies teaser trailer for its newest crime thriller, based on Si Spencer’s mind-bending graphic novel of the same name. The video highlights the mystery surrounding the same dead body that was found by four detectives in different eras. The series adaptation will start streaming on October 19.

What to expect in Bodies?

“Four detectives, living in four different eras – 1890, 1941, 2023 & 2053 – find the body of the same murder victim in London’s Whitechapel,” reads the synopsis. “They soon come to realize their investigations have them central to a mysterious conspiracy spanning over 150 years.”

Bodies is created and executive produced by Paul Tomalin. The series stars Shira Haas (Unorthodox) as DC Maplewood, Stephen Graham (The Irishman) as Elias Mannix, Jacob Fortune-Lloyd (The Queen’s Gambit) as DS Whiteman, Amaka Okafor (The Responder) as DS Hasan, and Kyle Soller (The Inheritance) as DI Hillinghead.

The adaptation is executive produced by Marco Kreuzpaintner, Will Gould, and Frith Tiplady, with Susie Liggat producing. Kreuzpaintner is also directing the series along with Haolu Wang.
