Starz has released the first-look images for the upcoming psychological thriller The Couple Next Door, giving viewers a look at what to expect for the Sam Heughan-led six-part series.

A remake of the Dutch series titled New Neighbours, the forthcoming series will star Heughan (Outlander) and Jessica De Gouw (The Portable Door), along with Eleanor Tomlinson (Poldark) and Alfred Enoch (How to Get Away with Murder).

The Couple Next Door, which will debut on Starz in the United States and on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom, follows Pete (Enoch) and Evie (Tomlinson) as they move into a new neighborhood, forming an unexpected friendship with their neighbors Becka (De Gouw) and Danny (Heughan). However, one steamy night took a turn that can potentially change their lives forever — whether for better or worse.

One Night Changes Their Lives Forever

The upcoming show’s official logline reads: “When Evie and Pete move into an upscale neighborhood, they find themselves in a world of curtain twitching and status anxiety. But soon find friendship in the shape of the couple next door, alpha traffic cop Danny and his wife, glamorous yoga instructor Becka. As time goes on, these two couples get increasingly close to each other and one fateful night, become sexually entangled in a way that will change their lives forever.”

Though the images didn’t give anything away about what to expect from the series, the upcoming psychological thriller will most likely explore the negative outcome of attempting to pursue their most profound and darkest desires.

The series is directed by Dries Vos, with David Allison serving as the show’s screenwriter. The Couple Next Door will premiere sometime in 2024. Check out the first-look images down below.
