Quentin Tarantino book tour

It may not be in the Pussy Wagon, but QT is hitting the road. Quentin Tarantino will be bouncing around the country next month to promote his upcoming book, Cinema Speculation.

Quentin Tarantino’s book tour has just six dates and five venues set:

Nov. 3rd – Los Angeles, CA (The Theatre at Ace Hotel)

Nov. 7th – San Francisco, CA (Castro Theatre)

Nov. 9th & 10th – Portland, OR (Hollywood Theatre)

Nov. 12th – Austin, TX (Paramount Theatre)

Nov. 16th – New York, NY (The Town Hall)

Tickets went on sale on Friday, October 7th, but seats are still available at most of the shows.

“Starting in Los Angeles, the tour will stop in five cities across the U.S. The intimate evenings will feature Tarantino in conversation with several notable film critics and film historians. In addition to the discussion, Tarantino will be reading an excerpt from his new book.” Each ticket comes with a copy of Cinema Speculation, unfortunately not signed.

The night will surely be an exciting one, as Quentin Tarantino is a noted chatterbox with a mouth faster than a ‘70 Chevy Nova. Add to that an absurdly encyclopedic knowledge of all things cinema and attendees will surely be getting their money’s worth. Allllriiiight?

The official book synopsis from publisher HarperCollins: “Organized around key American films from the 1970s, all of which he first saw as a young moviegoer at the time, this book is as intellectually rigorous and insightful as it is rollicking and entertaining. At once film criticism, film theory, a feat of reporting, and wonderful personal history, it is all written in the singular voice recognizable immediately as QT’s and with the rare perspective about cinema possible only from one of the greatest practitioners of the artform ever.”

Cinema Speculation is Quentin Tarantino’s first non-fiction book and second overall, following the novelization of his Once Upon a Time in Hollywood last year.

Other than the upcoming book tour, Quentin Tarantino has been as busy as ever, with the arrival of his second child and a terrific podcast with Pulp Fiction co-writer Roger Avary called The Video Archives Podcast.
