The MPA rating for Searchlight Pictures‘ upcoming film adaptation of Rachel Yoder’s dark comedy novel, Nightbitch, has been revealed.

According to Film Ratings, the Amy Adams-led horror film has been given an R-rating for “language and some sexuality.” The release date for Nightbitch has not yet been revealed; it is reportedly scheduled as a Hulu original.

What is Nightbitch about?

The story centers around a woman “thrown into the stay-at-home routine of raising a toddler in the suburbs, who slowly embraces the feral power deeply rooted in motherhood, as she becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre and undeniable signs that she may be turning into a canine,” reads the synopsis.

Nightbitch is directed by actress-filmmaker Marielle Heller (Queen’s Gambit) from a screenplay she co-wrote with Yoder. Joining Adams are Scoot McNairy, Mary Holland, Kerry O’Malley, Ella Thomas, and Roslyn Gentle.

It is produced by Adams and Stacy O’Neil through their Bond Group Entertainment banner.
