A new Mortal Kombat 1 trailer was shown off during today’s Gamescom opening night presentation, revealing four characters who will be in the game — two as playable characters and the other two as Kameo Fighters.

Who is revealed in the Mortal Kombat 1 trailer?

The new video delves further into Mortal Kombat 1’s story and reveals that General Shao and Sindel are playable characters in the upcoming title. At the same time, Motaro and Shujinko were confirmed to be Kameo Fighters.

Shao Khan and Sindel were both playable in the previous title, Mortal Kombat 11. Motaro is a Centaurian who first appeared in Mortal Kombat 3 while Shujinko first appeared as the playable character of Mortal Kombat: Deception’s story mode.

Mortal Kombat 1 is set to release on September 19 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Despite the title, it is the twelfth mainline entry in the Mortal Kombat franchise and the second reboot after Mortal Kombat (2011). The title takes place in the new timeline made by Liu Kang following the events of Mortal Kombat 11’s story mode.
