Here are some forgotten actors from the 80s and 90s that are now obscure but we think are due for a major comeback.

Last week, we posted a list of five forgotten actors we’d like to see make a comeback, and the reaction was so strong, we decided to post a bunch more! There’s a ton of people folks from the 80s and 90s we’d love to have back on our screen, so let’s take a look at another group of them today.

Kelly Jo Minter

Let’s start with a horror favorite and a regular presence on the convention circuit, Kelly Jo Minter. Most folks will remember her from A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, The People Under the Stairs, and a slew of television series appearances. She was everywhere for a while in the 1980s and 1990s, then projects started becoming further and further apart, with nothing between 2008 and 2019, then nothing since. This actress is beloved by many people, and she should get a new part, or a bunch of them. Minter has always been a talented actress with screen presence that attract the eye, she stands out in everything she’s been in for the right reasons, so she’d be perfect for a return. Perhaps a return to horror, where many of the stars seem to be making come back in the last few years, would be just the right thing to bring her back for good.

Kerri Green

More Actors We’d Love to See Make a Comeback: Kerri Green

From The Goonies, Kerri seems to be the only member of the main cast who is not currently active and that’s a shame. Sean Astin was recently seen in Stranger Things, Josh Brolin has had more than one part in the MCU and is super active, Martha Plimpton seems to be on television all the time, Ke Huy Quan is now an Oscar nominee, Corey Feldman is doing his own thing, Jeff Cohen is now an attorney (but we’d love to have him back too), so Kerri needs a comeback as well. The fact that we haven’t seen her in anything since 2012 and there was a decade between that part and the previous one shows that she seems to have been forgotten by some, which is almost criminal. In the 1990s, she was in quite a few television series and one movie. In the 1980s, she was in a few movies, starting with The Goonies. Every little girl who watched this film wanted to be Andy or be friends with her. She was the coolest.

Sasha Mitchell

More Actors We’d Love to See Make a Comeback: Sasha Mitchell

Most remember him as cousin Cody on Step by Step, the guy living in a van behind the Lambert’s house. But, at the same time the dude, all of a sudden, showed he could fight, leading to a solid run as a lead in B-action movies. HIs best known credit is as David Sloan in the Kickboxer series, which has since been rebooted and has been of uneven quality through the years. His career had some major ups, like modeling for Herb Ritts, and some downs. He was quite active in the 1990s and early 2000s, with some film work here and there since then, but nothing much in the last few years. He’s had small parts in feature films Assassin X and Drunk Parents, and according to IMDB, he does have 2 projects coming. One of them is the forever in development The Kickboxer: Algiers which was to be a film by the late Albert Pyun. A lot of martial arts and action actors have been coming or have been getting better roles lately with a seemingly long list of action films being made every year, so why not bring Sasha Mitchell back? He could even do an action comedy.

Karyn Parsons

Karyn Parons gained her fame with the general public by playing Hilary Banks on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, a character who crossed over to Blossom and Out All Night for appearances, Parsons had also appeared in 2 movies and 2 television series before that. Her career has included roles in Class Act, Major Payne, and The Ladies Man. More recently, she appeared in a short film called On Monday of Last Week in 2018 and in the feature film Sweet Thing in 2020. She also showed up in the HBO Max Fresh Prince reunion special. However, that is it. Nothing else between 2002 and now, nothing upcoming, nada. The woman is charismatic, she can handle comedy and drama, she’s fun to watch, and is talented, so why is she not constantly on our screens? If it’s a personal choice she’s made, we must agree with it, but if it’s not, it’s now high time to fix that and bring her back. Parsons has a screen presence that is missed by her fans and one that would be welcomed in current television series, comedy or not, or in film even. She made an indelible impression while on Fresh Prince, so there’s no telling where a comeback could take her.

Ashley Bank

Phoebe from The Monster Squad, Ashley Bank was recently seen in Wolfman’s Got Nards talking about her history with The Monster Squad and the film’s impact on fans and the fans’ impact on the film’s stars. In the film, she was the adorable little sister imposed on the Squad by her and Sean’s parents. She was adorable, she was filled with goodness, and she saved the world, quite a part for a girl her age. However, Bank was no new kid here, she had been acting since 1984 when she appeared on Cagney & Lacey. She also appeared in A Smoky Mountain Christmas with none other than Dolly Parton. All of this before hitting it big with horror nerds with the part of Phoebe. Since then, she’s been on 13 television series, 6 movies, and 1 documentary, but besides Wolfman’s Got Nards and 1 movie in 2022, she has not had much between 2012 and now. She’s always been talented and full of charm, her recent appearances at screenings of The Monster Squad show she’s great with crowds, and she’s been just so nice. Both Andre Gower and Ryan Lambert from the Squad are active with genre films coming soon, so let’s bring Ashley Bank back too.

These are our additions to Actors We’d Love to See Make a Comeback, who are yours? Keep in mind that we are talking about people who have been gone for a long time, and are due a major comeback. Who does everyone seem to forget and you’d love to see back on your screen? Let us know in the comments!
