The Austin Powers franchise was a huge deal back in the late 90s-early 2000s, and despite no real information on new adaptations of the project, actor Mike Myers said that he would love to return to the character.

During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Myers was asked about the potential of rebooting the series and returning to the role of Austin Powers. While Myers wouldn’t give much away, he did say that he’d love to do it and that he’d see what he was able to do.

“I don’t have anything to announce,” said Myers. “I can neither confirm nor deny the existence or nonexistence of such a project. Yeah, I would love to do it, of course, it’s fun… I have three kids under the age of 11, I’ve been super super busy being a dad… I’ll see what I can do, Jimmy Fallon!”

Rumors of a new Austin Powers movie have been around for years, but nothing has ever progressed beyond that. With Myers open to the idea of returning to the role, however, perhaps sometime soon we’ll be seeing The International Man of Mystery back on adventures.

The last Austin Powers film, Austin Powers in Goldmember, was released in July 2002, and was a box office success, despite receiving somewhat middling reviews at the time. As a whole, the Austin Powers franchise has earned more than $670 million at the box office and has been praised for its parody of 1960s spy films, with many of the catchphrases and lines from the films still remembered to this day.
