Despite not being a festive series, Marvel’s What If…? Season 2 is getting a holiday release date.

When does Marvel’s What If…? Season 2 come out?

The Disney+ series will reportedly come out around December 25. THR notes that the series was originally set for an early 2023 release, which was obviously missed, and will now debut “around Christmas day.” The animated series won’t be holiday-themed, though, as it is just how the production schedule lined up.

Footage previously shown from the second season included a young Peter Quill with his father, Ego, a giant Iron Man, and the news that Season 2 would be covering the comic 1602 by writer Neil Gaiman, which saw Marvel characters as they would be in the Elizabethan era.

The first season of What If…? hailed from head writer AC Bradley and director Bryan Andrew. The animated series also featured the introduction of The Watcher, who served as the narrator throughout the first season. The character was voiced by Jeffrey Wright.

The series also featured the voices of MCU vets who reprise their roles including Hayley Atwell, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Hemsworth, Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael B. Jordan, Sebastian Stan, Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Natalie Portman, Paul Rudd, Tilda Swinton, Taika Waititi, Danai Gurira, Paul Bettany, Rachel McAdams and more.
