Crunchyroll has confirmed that acclaimed voice actor Johnny Yong Bosch is returning to his iconic role as Vash the Stampede for the English dub of Trigun Stampede. Bosch served as the voice of main protagonist Vash in the English dub of the original Trigun series, with the character serving as his first major anime role.

“Voicing Vash the Stampede in the original Trigun series is a role that literally launched my voice-over career and I am extremely excited to voice him again in this all-new anime adaptation from Orange,” the actor said in a statement. “I look forward to going on this adventure with fans once more and hope new audiences enjoy the journey as well.”

Check out the video of Bosch announcing his return to Trigun Stampede below:

Jeremy Inman, ADR Director for Trigun Stampede‘s English dub, commented on working with the actor:

Trigun is anime royalty and I can’t wait to work with Johnny Yong Bosch in bringing it back to life with this new and fresh take, promising old fans the same gun-slinging action while bringing in new fans as well with amazing animation, characters, and story,” Inman stated.

Bosch has become a major name in the voice-over industry in the last two decades, voicing beloved characters like Bleach protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki, Sabo in One Piece, and both Yu Narukami and Tohru Adachi in the Persona 4 series of games. Fans of his live-action roles may also recognize him as Adam Park from the Power Rangers franchise.

“Vash the Stampede’s a joyful gunslinging pacifist, so why does he have a $$6 million bounty on his head? That’s what’s puzzling rookie reporter Meryl Stryfe and her jaded veteran partner when looking into the vigilante only to find someone who hates blood,” reads the series’ synopsis. “But their investigation turns out to uncover something heinous — his evil twin brother, Millions Knives.”

Trigun Stampede is available for streaming on on Crunchyroll and Hulu, with new episodes debuting each Saturday at 8:30 a.m. PT/11:30 a.m. ET. The original Trigun series from 1998 is also available on both platforms.
