A John Boyega Star Wars return could happen in the future, according to a new report that suggests the actor has mended fences with Lucasfilm and will be in the new Star Wars movie with Daisy Ridley.

During the most recent episode of The Hot Mic Podcast, insider John Rocha noted that he had heard from various sources that Boyega will be returning to the world in the movie starring Rey Skywalker.

“I’ll tell you this,” said Rocha. “I’ll break this for myself. According to some sources I know, different sources, have reached out to me because of this show. And they have said to me, that according to them and what they’re hearing, is that John Boyega will be coming back for this movie.”

Rocha went on to note that problems Boyega may have had with the Star Wars franchise have been smoothed over after Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and Boyega had a conversation recently. The upcoming film will reportedly see Rey try and honor her commitment to Luke Skywalker by rebuilding the Jedi Order.

Boyega’s history with the Star Wars franchise is a rocky one, with the actor even saying that “was good” in terms of ever playing the character Finn again. However, sometimes feelings change, and with Ridley also returning to the role, it’s not impossible that perhaps Boyega does as well.

Boyega’s feelings and history with the Star Wars franchise and his time in it are well noted, with the actor famously not liking how they handled his role in the film. At the time of the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Boyega openly criticized the franchise for seemingly putting the character of Finn on the backburner after introducing him as a more heroic figure.
