Star Wars’ Finn, John Boyega, has once again taken to dissing The Last Jedi, ranking it the worst of the sequel trilogy.

John Boyega Star Wars

We might not always get the answers we want, but it can be fun to hear how some of our favorite actors rank their most famous movies. And that’s just what John Boyega was forced to do with his Star Wars sequel trilogy, as one fan took Finn himself to task on the latest edition of First We Feast’s Hot Ones spinoff, Truth or Dab: Rapid Fire. As the structure goes, if the guest decides not to answer the question, they have to eat a wing topped off with The Last Dab, the sponsored hot sauce which clocks in around two million on the Scoville scale (that’s Carolina Reaper territory). Fortunately, Boyega was game and answered the question as honestly as possible.

In front of three intimidating hot sauces, John Boyega ranked his Star Wars movies as such: Star Wars: The Force Awakens is most definitely the best. Second for me comes Star Wars IX [The Rise of Skywalker] and then the worst – in the most respectful sense – is Episode VIII [The Last Jedi].” Then Boyega says, “But they’re all lovely”, accompanied by a telling side glance…

This shouldn’t be much of a surprise, as John Boyega has spoken out against Star Wars: The Last Jedi before, saying there was such promise to make the strongest trilogy possible until the eighth entry. The Force Awakens I think was the beginning of something quite solid, The Last Jedi if I’m being honest I’d say that was feeling a bit iffy for me. I didn’t necessarily agree with a lot of the choices in that…” Boyega may have even made a slight against The Last Jedi by not mentioning it directly when discussing Finn’s future in the Star Wars saga. “At this point I’m cool off it. I’m good off it…I think Finn is at a good confirmation point where you can just enjoy him in other things, the games, the animation. But I feel like ‘[Episode] VII’ to ‘[Episode] IX’ was good for me.” Sure, he’s covering the trilogy by saying “Episode VII to Episode IX“, but he could have said “the Star Wars sequels” without mentioning any titles at all. Considering his open “iffy-ness” on The Last Jedi, it does feel like a subconscious diss…
