Jason momoa, shots! shots! shots!, universal pictures, action-comedy

Jason Momoa is making himself one busy man. The actor is currently filming the next Fast and Furious installment, Fast X, and he has since signed on to star in the live-action Minecraft movie as well. Not wanting to let another opportunity pass him by, Momoa has also signed on to star in and produce the new Universal Pictures action-comedy, Shots! Shots! Shots!

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Shots! Shots! Shots! is described as a “family-centric adventure” that has shades of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s True Lies, Liam Neeson’s Taken, and this year’s The Lost City, which starred Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum. That sounds like a nice blend that has just about everything in it to please anyone. The film was written by Matt Mider and Kevin Burrow, who previously worked together on the 2018 Netflix comedy The Package and they were previously attached to the Home Alone reimagining, Stoned Alone, with Ryan Reynolds.

This seems like a good move for Momoa because he’ll get to flex his action muscles while also tapping into his natural charisma as a comedic performer as well. He has shown shades of this playing Aquaman and this sounds like a project he can expand upon that with.

In meantime, Momoa will likely be seen next in Slumberland, a Netflix family adventure that has already wrapped filming and is expected to release this year. He also has the Aquaman sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom on deck for release next year on March 17, 2023.
