Multi-talented actor and musician Jamie Foxx was taken to the hospital after suffering a “medical complication,” according to his family. Thankfully, the 55-year-old is already on the mend and recovering.

“We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” wrote Jamie’s daughter, actress Corinne Foxx. “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

Per TMZ, Foxx is “communicating now” with family, which is good news. The unknown incident was serious enough that his family came to the hospital, including members that weren’t in town.

Foxx most recently starred in the vampire action movie Day Shift alongside Dave Franco. He’ll next be seen in They Cloned Tyrone and voicing a dog in the comedy Strays. He has been filming in Altanta for the movie Back in Action with Cameron Diaz. Foxx won an Academy Award for Best Actor due to his performance in Ray and has been in a number of successful movies, including Dreamgirls, Django Unchained, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, along with releasing several musical albums. He was a breakout star of In Living Color and starred in his own sitcom, The Jamie Foxx Show.

ComingSoon wishes Jamie Foxx a speedy recovery.
