Final Fantasy VII Remake was inevitably going to get another part and Square Enix has finally released a trailer for it. Dubbed Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, this second part of the expanded remake is coming to PlayStation 5 next winter.

The trailer shows bits and pieces of the title in action, including Zack, Cloud, and Sephiroth. Just be warned as it spoils the first part of the remake.

Square confirmed this would part of the three-part series, the final of which has yet to be revealed. This final title is also not Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII: Reunion, but that will play a role in the larger vision.

Creative Director Tetsuya Nomura also released a statement on the game through Final Fantasy VII‘s Twitter account. In it, he talked about the four Final Fantasy VII titles and how they play a different role in game’s universe. And since he has been so involved in the development of the original games, he said he “deeply [understands] the vision and thoughts behind each project.”

After saying that those who didn’t play the original can also have a good time with the new remade series, he stated that development has been going rather quickly and that he’s even been working on the third installment, a title he wishes to share in due time.

“The development of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has been progressing rapidly since we adopted a new development structure. A title of this scale in which everything is interconnected even before production began is truly rare. In fact, some development has already begun on the third title. I myself have started on the development and am working towards the completion of the series.”

Director Naoki Hamaguchi and Producer Yoshinori Kitase shared their own thoughts in that above thread, speaking to how they want to get the game right even if that takes more time and make it even more memorable than the first part of the remake.
