Gameloft’s Disney Speedstorm was originally slated to come out in 2022. However, the free-to-play kart racer is drifting into 2023.

Gameloft explained more in a tweet and post on its website. The posts states that the studio is working hard to make a “fast-paced and competitive racing experience [players] will return to play for years to come” while also noting that it needs more time in order to achieve that vision. This time will lead to a “more immersive racing experience” with more customization options and game modes, according to Gameloft.

The team didn’t give an exact timeframe within 2023, so it’s unclear when this racer will be coming out on Switch, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. However, Gameloft will be providing regular updates before launch over the next several weeks.

Disney Speedstorm was originally supposed to launch in the summer, but was quietly moved to sometime within 2022. Gameloft has been slowly revealing new characters like Monsters Inc.‘s Sully and The Jungle Book‘s Baloo and even just recently went into the game’s four different classes.
