During this year’s DigiFes 2022 event, new information on the upcoming Digimon Adventure 02 anime film was released, including its formal title and more.

The new film, which will be officially titled Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning, will be set in February 2012, shortly after the events of the Digimon Adventure tri anime and the Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna anime. While not too much of the film was shown off, images of the characters and their Digimon were shown off, as well as information about the cast for the film, which is set to include:

  • Megumi Ogata as Rui Owada, a “mysterious youth” who claims to be the worst person in the world to become a DigiDestined
  • Rie Kugimiya as Ukkomon, a Digimon who is key to the plot of the upcoming film
  • Fukujurō Katayama as Daisuke Motomiya
  • Junko Noda as V-Mon
  • Arthur Lounsbery as Ken Ichijōji
  • Naozumi Takahashi as Wormmon
  • Ayaka Asai as Miyako Inoue
  • Kouichi Toochika as Hawkmon
  • Yoshitaka Yamaya as Iori Hida
  • Megumi Urawa as Armadimon
  • Junya Enoki as Takeru Takaishi
  • Miwa Matsumoto as Patamon
  • M.A.O as Hikari Yagami
  • Yuka Tokumitsu as Tailmon

Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning Gets Name, Casting Information

Alongside the images and casting information, it was also confirmed that Yumeta Company would be returning to produce the animation for the film after having worked on Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna. A teaser for the film was shown off during DigiFes 2022, although it hasn’t made its way online just yet. As of now, no official release information for the film has been announced.
