Chris Tucker says that he’s “definitely” down to join Jackie Chan on the long-belated Rush Hour 4.

Rush Hour 4, Chris Tucker

It’s been over fifteen years since Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker had their last Rush Hour misadventure, but there’s been talk of a sequel all that time. Jackie Chan confirmed last year that he was in talks for Rush Hour 4, and now Chris Tucker has added that he’s “definitely” ready to return as well.

Chris Tucker spoke to Audacy’s V-103 (via Variety) to tease a few of his upcoming projects, including Rush Hour 4. “You’re going to see a lot of good stuff coming, but it’s going to be on a whole other level,” Tucker said. “That’s what I like… I’m excited about that. It’s not going to be what you’ve normally seen… ‘Rush Hour 4,’ that’s something I definitely will probably drop in there because I love working with Jackie, but I’ve got some new stuff that I think you’re really gonna like. I’m excited about it.

The first Rush Hour movie starred Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker as Chief Inspector Lee and Detective James Carter, two mismatched police officers assigned to rescue a Chinese diplomat’s abducted daughter. The film was a big success, spawning two sequels, Rush Hour 2 and Rush Hour 3. As I mentioned, there’s been talk of Rush Hour 4 for years, and this isn’t even the first time that Chris Tucker has promised it’s coming. “It’s happening. This is gonna be the rush of all rushes,” Tucker said in 2018. “Jackie is ready and we want to do this so that people don’t ever forget it.

Chris Tucker hasn’t been all that active on the big screen over the last decade, but he’s set to star alongside Ben Affleck and Matt Damon in Air. Directed by Ben Affleck, the sports drama tells the unbelievable game-changing partnership between a then-rookie Michael Jordan and Nike’s fledgling basketball division, which revolutionized the world of sports and contemporary culture with the Air Jordan brand. The film premiered at SXSW last week and will hit theaters on April 5th.

Would you like to see Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan reunite for Rush Hour 4, or has the time passed?
