Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock

Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock both rose to fame around the same time, but the iconic ’90s stars never appeared in a movie together until this year. Actually, they appeared in two, with Brad Pitt turning up in Sandra Bullock’s The Lost City and Bullock returning the favour for Pitt’s Bullet Train. It may seem odd that the two friends took so long to appear on screen with one another, but they once attempted to develop a comedy project as a star vehicle for them both.

Brad Pitt recently spoke with Vogue UK, and the topic of QVC came up (as it does), which is when the actor revealed the scrapped comedy project he was developing with Sandra Bullock.

I wouldn’t know how to do that, unless it was a comedy,. Actually, Sandy [Sandra Bullock] and I did once try to develop a whole idea of a husband and wife team, who were QVC’s most successful salespeople, but we’re getting a divorce, we hate each other, and we’re taking it out on air as we sell things… That’s as far as we got.

It’s got potential, and Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock certainly have a lot of on-screen chemistry. Maybe one day.

Bullet Train starred Brad Pitt as Ladybug, an unlucky assassin determined to do his job peacefully after one too many gigs gone off the rails. Fate, however, may have other plans, as Ladybug’s latest mission puts him on a collision course with lethal adversaries from around the globe—all with connected, yet conflicting, objectives—on the world’s fastest train. In addition to Brad Pitt, the film boasts quite the eclectic cast, including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Joey King, Brian Tyree Henry, Andrew Koji, Hiroyuki Sanada, Michael Shannon, Benito A. Martínez Ocasio, Zazie Beetz, Logan Lerman, and more. Sandra Bullock played Maria Beetle, Ladybug’s contact and handler.

The Lost City centered on a reclusive romance novelist (Sandra Bullock) who is sure nothing could be worse than getting stuck on a book tour with her cover model (Channing Tatum). That is until a kidnapping attempt sweeps them both into a cutthroat jungle adventure, proving life can be so much stranger, and more romantic, than any of her paperback fictions. Brad Pitt played man of action Jack Trainer.
