In an interview with NME, Charlie Cox revealed that the extensive filming for Daredevil: Born Again is set to take place throughout all of 2023.

“They said to me, ‘We’re going to be shooting in 2023’,” Cox stated. “I said, ‘Great, when?’ They said, ‘All 2023’. I start shooting in February and finish in December.”

Cox also spoke about how the tone of Daredevil: Born Again may differ from that of the original Netflix series and why that change may have potential.

“This has to be a reincarnation, it has to be different,” said Cox. “Otherwise why are we doing it? My opinion is this character works best when he’s geared towards a slightly more mature audience. My instinct is that on Disney+ it will be dark but it probably won’t be as gory.”

Finally, Cox addressed fans who may simply want a continuation of the Netflix series’ atmosphere, stating, “I would say to those people, we’ve done that. Let’s take the things that really worked, but can we broaden? Can we appeal to a slightly younger audience without losing what we’ve learned about what works?”

Daredevil: Born Again hails from head writers Matt Corman and Chris Ord, who will also serve as executive producers along with Kevin Feige. The series will stream on Disney+ in the spring of 2024.
