The entertainment industry is in mourning as legendary The Price Is Right host Bob Barker has passed away.

What is Bob Barker’s cause of death?

As confirmed by TMZ, the 99-year-old game show host passed away from natural causes. Barker is said to have died peacefully at his home this morning in Los Angeles.

Barker became a television staple by hosting Truth or Consequences from 1956 through 1975. He also began hosting The Price Is Right in 1972, a role that he would hold until his retirement in 2007. Barker was a noted animal rights advocate and made a memorable film appearance in Happy Gilmore, in which he beat up Adam Sandler’s titular golfer.

“We lost a beloved member of the CBS family today with the passing of Bob Barker. During his 35 years as host of The Price Is Right, Bob made countless people’s dreams come true and everyone feel like a winner when they were called to ‘come on down,’” said CBS in a statement. “In addition to his legendary 50-year career in broadcasting, Bob will be remembered as a dedicated animal rights activist. Daytime television has lost one of its most iconic stars.”

Barker was married to Dorothy Jo Gideon, who died in 1981 from lung cancer.
