A new Blue Beetle clip is out, which showcases Xolo Maridueña‘s Jaime Reyes learning more about the scarab that’s taken over him.

What happens in the new Blue Beetle clip?

The new clip comes courtesy of Fandango. It features Reyes showing the alien technology embedded in his back to his family, as well as to Bruna Marquezine’s Jenny Kord. While the family is shocked, Kord explains the history behind it, and that the device is “some kind of world-destroying weapon” given to her father, Ted Kord.

Who is in Blue Beetle?

The Blue Beetle movie is directed by Angel Manuel Soto from a screenplay adapted by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer. Cobra Kai breakout Xolo Maridueña stars in DC’s first stand-alone Latino-led superhero movie as Mexican-American teenager Jaime Reyes. Joining him are Oscar winner Susan Sarandon, Harvey Guillén, Bruna Marquezine, Belissa Escobedo, George Lopez, Adrianna Barraza, Elpidia Carrillo, Raoul Max Trujillo, and Damián Alcázar, with Becky G as the voice of Khaji-Da/ Scarab.

“Jaime Reyes suddenly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology called the Scarab,” reads the film’s synopsis. “When the Scarab chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he’s bestowed with an incredible suit of armor that’s capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the superhero Blue Beetle.”
