Bad Bunny has reportedly exited Sony’s El Muerto movie.

It was recently announced that the upcoming Sony’s Spider-Man Universe movie, El Muerto, would be delayed indefinitely from its original release date of January 12, 2024. The movie was set to star singer/actor Bad Bunny as Juan-Carlos Sánchez and be directed by Jonás Cuarón.

According to One Take News, Bad Bunny will no longer be portraying the titular role in the film. However, the movie will still be happening, and Sony will be looking for another actor to recast the role. It is unknown whether Bad Bunny will stay on the project as an executive producer. The reason for his departure is unknown, but is is said to be a result of his busy tour schedule and ongoing delays during the writer’s strike.

The project began development when Sony executives were impressed with his performance in 2022’s Bullet Train and wanted to build another project around him.

When is the El Muerto release date?

There is no current release date for El Muerto. The project has been delayed indefinitely.

The next movie in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe will be Kraven the Hunter, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson. It will premiere on October 6, 2023.
