Disney‘s upcoming sci-fi feature Tron: Ares has found its latest cast member in Yellowjackets star Sarah Desjardins.

As broken by Deadline, Desjardins has been cast in the long-gestating Tron threequel. This revelation comes shortly after the outlet reported that Cameron Monaghan had boarded the film as well. As is the case with Monaghan, no details regarding Desjardins’ character in Tron: Ares are available at the moment.

Desjardins and Monaghan join a cast that already includes Jared Leto, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Greta Lee. As Deadline notes, Disney appears to be rounding out Tron: Ares’ cast ahead of a possible Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) strike. Such a strike is expected to begin at midnight tonight if the actors union cannot reach a new deal with the major Hollywood studios and streamers. Assuming a SAG strike is avoided, Tron: Ares will begin filming in August.

As for Desjardins, the actor is perhaps best known for her role as Callie Sadecki on the popular Showtime thriller drama Yellowjackets. She also stars as Maddie Redfield on the Netflix action thriller The Night Agent. Desjardins’ other credits include Riverdale, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Van Helsing, Supernatural, and Clue.

What is Tron: Ares about?

Tron: Ares is planned as the third cinematic entry in Disney’s Tron franchise, following Tron (1982) and Tron: Legacy (2010). Joachim Rønning is attached to direct Ares from a script by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne. Aforementioned lead actor Leto serves as a producer on the project.

On that note, the next Tron film centers on the titular Ares, a new character/computer program played by Leto. The plot reportedly revolves around Ares’ journey from the digital world to the human world. Beyond that, however, details are scarce for the time being.

Tron: Ares does not yet have a release date. In the meantime, Tron, Tron: Legacy, and the animated series Tron: Uprising are streaming on Disney+.
