According to Deadline, Jupiter’s Legacy star Leslie Bibb has been tapped to join Kristen Wiig and Allison Janney in Apple Studios’ forthcoming comedy series Mrs. American Pie, based on Juliet McDaniel’s 2018 novel of the same name. Serving as an executive producer is Oscar winner Laura Dern, who’s also currently attached for a key role in the series.

Bibb is set to portray the role of Dinah, a lovely, but vulnerable, member of high society. Bibb will also be seen in Netflix’s God’s Favorite Idiot comedy series, where she’ll be playing Satan.

Set during the powder keg era of the early 1970s, Mrs. American Pie will be directed by Oscar nominee Tate Taylor (The Help) from a screenplay written by Abe Sylvia (Dead to Me), who will be serving as the showrunner.

“A story about gorgeously impossible people, it follows Maxine Simmons’ (Wiig) attempt to secure her seat at America’s most exclusive table: Palm Beach high society,” reads the synopsis. “As Maxine attempts to cross that impermeable line between the haves and the have-nots, the series asks the same questions that still baffle us today: ‘Who gets a seat at the table?’ ‘How do you get a seat at the table?’ ‘What will you sacrifice to get there?’”
