“I can’t wait to see Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Transmutation,” said Arakawa of the second of the films to be released (transcription via Crunchyroll). “I hope all the fans of the original manga will come and see the films because it is really packed with highlights. I hope all the fans of the original manga will come and see the films, because it is really packed with highlights. I have nothing but high hopes!”
Arakawa went on to say that he was excited from just “the very first scene” of the film, before going on to praise the actors in the film, from the fighting of the actors playing Edward Elric and the Xing team to the range of emotions portrayed by Tsubasa Honda, who is set to play Winry Rockbell in both films.
“I was excited from the very first scene where Ed and the Xing team were fighting,” Arakawa said. “Lan Fan was especially cool! Yamada-kun, who played Ed, became a very attractive protagonist with a richer range of emotions in his acting. Also, Tsubasa- chan’s crying performance made me also cry. But the part that made me cry the most was the scene of Fu-jiisan. I thought, “Oh, that’s what looks like in live-action.” I drew this story myself, but combined with the amazing advances in computer graphics, I was able to enjoy the film with a fresh feeling from beginning to end.”
A new trailer for both films was also shared alongside a poster, both of which you can see below:
