The Netflix Top 10 TV List finds Heartstopper Season 2 in second place, with The Lincoln Lawyer reclaiming the top spot!

Netflix‘s adaptation of Alice Oseman‘s Heartstopper makes hearts flutter after debuting on Netflix’s Top 10 TV List, with The Lincoln Lawyer returning to the top spot. The chart tabulating Netflix’s English-language series shows Heartstopper drawing 6.1M views, with fans returning to see Nick and Charlie’s trip to France and witness the evolution of their new relationship. Meanwhile, after debuting its final episodes, The Lincoln Lawyer found 6.7M views approaching the bench from July 31 to August 6.

The Witcher, featuring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia for the last time before Liam Hemsworth assumes the role, fell from number one to number 3, tossing 5.4M views to its coffers. Completing the top five were Sweet Magnolias Season 3, in fourth place, and How to Become a Cult Leader, debuting in fifth with 2.3M views.

On the English Films list, Hidden Strike, an action-adventure flick starring Jackie Chan and John Cena, claimed the top spot for the second week in a row. Documentaries Poisoned: The Dirty Truth About Your Food (5.1M views) and Untold: Jake Paul the Problem Child (3.3M views) entered #4 and #10, respectively.

Per Netflix’s official press release, Happiness for Beginners returned to #2 (13.1M views), with Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie following at #3 (12.5M views), Missing: The Lucie Blackman Case coming in at #5 (5M views) and They Cloned Tyrone continuing its three-week Top 10 streak, ranking eighth (3.6M views).

When Heartstopper debuted on Netflix, Heartstoppers assembled to sing its praises and encourage Netflix to renew the show for more episodes. Not only did Netflix respond by giving the green light for a second season, but we’re getting a third too! Handing out multiple season renewals for a show on Netflix is rare, but weeks of the show trending on social media have sent a clear signal to the streamer to keep pumping money and effort into this joyous series. Oseman returns as the writer and creator for the new season.

In Netflix’s Heartstopper Season 2, Nick (Kit Connor) and Charlie (Joe Locke) navigate the trials and tribulations of young love. Meanwhile, Nick struggles to come out to his peer group, and Charlie wrestles with an affliction he’s yet to share with anyone. Additionally, Elle (Yasmin Finney) and Tao (William Gao) test the boundaries of their friendship, hoping it develops into something more. As hearts beat uncontrollably and butterflies circle in stomachs, Imogen (Rhea Norwood), Darcy (Kizzy Edgell), and Isaac (Tobie Donovan) encounter their own crossroads as hormones, doubts, and questions about the future loom.

As for The Lincoln Lawyer, here’s the official synopsis:

“The Lincoln Lawyer follows the redemption of Mickey Haller (Garcia-Rulfo), a Los Angeles attorney who regains much of what he lost due to addiction with hard work and hustle. His success is also thanks to his devoted supporters: his ex-wives Maggie (Campbell) and Lorna (Newton), his driver and unofficial sponsor Izzy (Raycole), and the best investigator in town—and Lorna’s newly minted fiancé—Cisco (Sampson).”

The 10-episode season of The Lincoln Lawyer takes cues from the fourth book in the novel series by Michael Connelly, titled “The Fifth Witness.”
