Zac Efron, MCU, Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios, Marvel

Zac Efron has been at the center of fan casting for years within the Marvel Cinematic Universe but so far none of it has come to fruition. How does Efron really feel about joining the MCU? The actor is indicating he’s down to play with the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the right role.

During a recent chat with Extra TV to promote the upcoming Firestarter remake, the topic of his fan casting in the MCU was addressed and he was asked if he had any interest in playing a superhero, particularly in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Efron responded by saying, “I love the Marvel universe. I’ve been a fan of Marvel since I started walking. If the right character comes along, and they want me to jump in, I would jump at the opportunity.”

Many fans thought that the right role would’ve been Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Fans thought he would be perfect for the role because it was rumored they were looking for someone fitting Efron’s description. They ultimately went with Will Poulter for the role but other characters than fans Efron could be perfect for are Nova and the Human Torch. He may have missed out on Adam Warlock but it’s possible he could end up on Marvel’s radar for another role. He has the physicality to play a superhero and his acting chops have grown beyond just being known for his good looks, which allowed him to gain traction during the early part of his career.

Who do YOU think Zac Efron could play in the MCU? The actor can be seen next in the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s Firestarter, hitting theaters and the Peacock streaming service on May 13, 2022.
