The movie stars Halle Bailey as Ariel, Jonah Hauer-King as Eric, and Melissa McCarthy as the villainous Ursula. Just like the Disney animated classic, it also features a cast of of critters, with Jacob Tremblay voicing Ariel’s fish companion Flounder and Daveed Diggs lending his vocal talents to Sebastien.

The official synopsis for the movie reads:

“The youngest of King Triton’s daughters, Ariel is a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. Following her heart, she makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to experience life on land.”
