Confession time: I’ve yet to see a single episode of What We Do in the Shadows. People keep telling me that I’m missing one of the best shows on TV, and I loved Taika Waititi’s movie. Eventually, I’ll binge on what I keep hearing is a laugh-riot, but if you’re a fan, here’s some good news. Season 4 of Shadows has set its premiere date on FX, and it’s sooner than you might think! Indeed, the season is set to premiere on July 12th with weekly instalments.

The announcement was made via the show’s official Twitter:

The show centers on:

Three vampires who live together: Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), and Nandor (Kayvan Novak) — the former two are husband and wife. Also living with them is a fourth vampire named Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch), who’s an “energy vampire.” Instead of blood, he sucks the energy out of his victims by boring them to death with mundane anecdotes and bad jokes. The office is his feeding ground, but his powers also work on his vampire roomies.

The show was created by one of the film stars, Jemaine Clement, and features Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Kayvan Novak, Harvey Guillén, and Mark Proksch. If you’re a fan of the show and enjoy Matt Berry’s performance, allow me to recommend a brilliant horror/comedy mash-up he acted in several years ago called Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace, A spoof of the old Ray Bradbury Theater and Kurt Vonnegut’s Monkey House, the premise was quasi lifted for the HBO comedy The Spoils of Babylon. You can find entire episodes here!
