WGA and AMPTP Will Meet Again

[ad_1]

A new writers strike update says the WGA and AMPTP will have another meeting.

The Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers have been bargaining for four days straight. They have been hoping to put an end to the ongoing writers strike, which has had a drastic impact on the industry. The strike will not end until the writers and producers come to a deal about the use of A.I. in the film industry and streaming residuals.

“Last Friday, 102 days after they walked away from the bargaining table and put us out on strike, the AMPTP offered responses to our proposals in all work areas,” the WGA said in a communique with members (via Deadline). “We met this week and continued to exchange proposals. We will continue to meet next week.

“Thank you for the many messages of support and solidarity as we talk with the AMPTP. As always, be skeptical of rumors from third parties, knowing that the Guild will communicate when we think there is something of significance to report.”
