Among the moving of dates, Warner Bros. Discovery officially set the release dates for the upcoming horror film Evil Dead Rise (April 21, 2023), which is now getting its own theatrical release, The Nun 2 (September 8, 2023), the remake of the legendary comedy film House Party (December 9, 2023), as well shifting the date of the Salem’s Lot remake from April 21, 2023, to a date to be decided in 2023.

Warner Bros. Discovery has also set the date for a currently unknown film, An Untitled WB Event Film, which is set to release on February 10, 2023. No word on what this project is or what it’s tied to has been confirmed, though, so it’s unclear just what the feature will be.

Evil Dead Rise will be led by Alyssa Sutherland (Vikings) and Lily Sullivan (Picnic at Hanging Rock) along with Gabrielle Echols (Reminiscence), Morgan Davies (The Girlfriend Experience), and Nell Fisher (Northspur). Executive producer and franchise star Bruce Campbell previously confirmed that the upcoming film wouldn’t have any ties to the previous films and will mainly center around the Necronomicon.

The Nun 2 will be directed by Michael Chaves from a script written by Akela Cooper and will be produced by James Wan, Peter Safran, Michael Clear, Judson Scott, and Gary Dauberman. The film will be the ninth installment in The Conjuring Universe and will see the return of Bonnie Aarons as Valak/The Nun.

House Party will be directed by South Central L.A. native Calmatic, music video director of such hits as Lil’ Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” and will star Tosin Cole, Jacob Latimore, Karen Obilom, DC Young Fly, and Scott Mescudi, SpringHill’s LeBron James and Maverick Carter are on board to produce.
