Vin Diesel welcomes Alan Ritchson in new set video

The new Fast & Furious movie has certainly had its share of troubles already, but the latest video from the set is nothing but smiles. Vin Diesel posted a new video from the set of Fast X to welcome Alan Ritchson to the Family.

The Reacher actor officially joined the cast of Fast X last week and is seen suited up and ready for action in the video. If you look beyond the actors, the set seems to be a stretch of highway surrounded by blue screens with a couple of flipped and bullet-riddled cars on the ground.

Shortly after production began on Fast X, director Justin Lin stepped down reportedly due to creative differences. “With the support of Universal, I have made the difficult decision to step back as director of FAST X, while remaining with the project as a producer,” Justin Lin said in a statement. “Over 10 years and five films, we have been able to shoot the best actors, the best stunts, and the best damn car chases. On a personal note, as the child of Asian immigrants, I am proud of helping to build the most diverse franchise in movie history. I will forever be grateful to the amazing cast, crew and studio for their support, and for welcoming me into the FAST family.” Justin Lin was quickly replaced by Louis Leterrier, the director behind The Transporter, Clash of the Titans, and Now You See Me.

Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Sung Kang will be starring in Fast X, with Charlize Theron returning as Cipher and Scott Eastwood as Little Nobody. Jason Momoa, Daniela Melchior, and Brie Larson will round out the cast, with Momoa expected to be playing the villain.

Fast X is slated for a May 19, 2023 release.
