Tyler Hoechlin, Teen Wolf movie

Before Tyler Hoechlin took to the skies as Superman, he was Derek Hale, a werewolf on MTV’s Teen Wolf series. Last year it was announced that a Teen Wolf movie was in development for Paramount+ with much of the original cast returning. At the time, Tyler Hoechlin wasn’t included in the list of returning cast members, but Deadline has now reported that the actor is in the stages of finalizing a deal to reprise his role for the Teen Wolf movie.

Additionally, Deadline says that Ian Bohen and Khylin Rhambo will be reprising their roles of Peter Hale and Mason Hewitt, respectively. Vince Matthis, Nobi Nakanishi, and Amy Lin Workman have also joined the cast, with Mattis set to play Eli Hale, Derek’s 15-year-old son. Should Tyler Hoechlin sign on that dotted line to return for the Teen Wolf movie, he would join Tyler Posey, Holland Roden, Colton Haynes, Shelley Hennig, Crystal Reed, Orny Adams, Linden Ashby, JR Bourne, Seth Gilliam, Ryan Kelley, Melissa Ponzio, and Dylan Sprayberry. However, one person who won’t be back is Dylan O’Brien, who played Stiles Stilinski on the MTV series. He explained his difficult decision not to come back earlier this month.

It was a difficult decision. A lot went into it. The show couldn’t be more dear to me. It was the first thing I ever did I and so many people there are extremely dear to me. It was something I was trying to make work but it all happened very fast. We didn’t really know that it was happening and they kind of just threw it at us a little bit, which is fine because we all love the show. We were trying to figure it out.

A full moon rises in Beacon Hills, and with it a terrifying evil has emerged,” reads the official synopsis. “The wolves are howling once again, calling for the return of banshees, werecoyotes, hellhounds, kitsunes, and every other shapeshifter in the night. But only a werewolf like Scott McCall (Posey), no longer a teenager yet still an alpha, can gather both new allies and reunite trusted friends to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they’ve ever faced.“ The Teen Wolf movie will be written and produced by series creator Jeff Davis
