Tom Holland selected a more recent Spider-Man movie as his favorite, saying he’s “proud of everyone involved.”

Tom Holland has picked his favorite movie of all of the Spider-Man flicks…And no, he didn’t pick one of his own — and he certainly didn’t go with Spider-Man 3…

As per The Associated Press, Holland landed on a more recent entry as his favorite Spider-Man. “I think the first Spider-Verse movie is the best Spider-Man movie that has ever been made. I am so proud of everyone involved. Amy Pascal is like my mom. I was supposed to go with her as her date. I couldn’t go because I’m here working. But I’m incredibly proud of them. I’m excited for the second one. I’m sure it will live up to every expectation, and I can’t wait to see it.”

Tom Holland is not alone in picking 2018’s Into the Spider-Verse as his favorite of all Spider-Man movies, as it stands as one of the most well-received animated films ever and ranks incredibly high on Letterboxd, the popular website where movie lovers share ratings and reviews. The hype for Across the Spider-Verse has also paid off, as it currently holds a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, with an audience score of 97%. Read our own Chris Bumbray’s 9/10 review, in which he calls it “an entirely engrossing animated epic.” The third installment, Beyond the Spider-Verse, is due out next year.

Holland played Spider-Man in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War before launching his own trilogy in Homecoming, Far from Home and No Way Home, not to mention proving as much of an asset as he could be in the most recent Avengers movies. As for the future of Tom Holland as Spider-Man, both Kevin Feige and Pascal have offered hope, with the Marvel president previously stating, “All I will say is that we have the story. We have big ideas for that, and our writers are just putting pen to paper now.” The progress of any Spider-Man scripts would have unfortunately halted due to the ongoing WGA strike.

What is your favorite Spider-Man movie? Would you like to have Tom Holland continue to sling his way through more movies or is it time to hang up the suit? Give us your thoughts!
