The upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder is set to feature a ton of characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One actor unsure of his appearance in the film, however, is Loki himself, Tom Hiddleston.

Speaking to Total Film for their latest issue, Hiddleston said that he honestly wasn’t sure whether or not he would appear in the upcoming Thor film. Further, Hiddleston even joked a bit, saying that he wasn’t “doing an Andrew Garfield,” referring to the British actor’s now-infamous job of constantly lying about his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

“I’m living in a question mark,” Hiddleston said. “It’s all unknown. You know, I used to think that I could predict these things, but I literally have no idea. And I’m not even doing an Andrew Garfield! I just don’t know.”

Despite the fact that Hiddleston doesn’t know, he does know that he enjoys playing the character of Loki, calling it “a source of eternal surprise and delight.”

“We made some new, bold choices,” said Hiddleston of the Disney+ series Loki. “Loki goes on a really big, internal journey that felt very new and fresh. And I thought, ‘I would like to explore this kind of story, whether it’s Loki or not. But the fact that it’s Loki is even more interesting.’

“[Plyaing Loki] is a source of eternal surprise and delight, the whole journey. It’s absolutely a part of my life now, and will always be. You know, just now in the bathroom, somebody came in, and said, ‘Loki!’ And I said, [indicates to himself] ‘Tom.’ And they went, ‘Sorry. Yeah.’ But it’s what people see.”

Thor: Love and Thunder is once again being directed by Waititi (Jojo Rabbit) from a script he co-wrote with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Someone Great), which will be the follow-up to Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok.
