Although the fate of Titans may be up in the air, fans still have another season of the DC series to look forward to. HBO Max has released the official trailer for Titans season 4, which introduces one of the big baddies of the DC Universe — Lex Luthor.

Described in the Titans season 4 trailer as “the only man Bruce Wayne was ever afraid of,” Lex Luthor is played by the great Titus Welliver, and he definitely makes an impact. The new season finds the Titans hitting the road back to San Francisco after having saved Gotham. But after a stop in Metropolis, they find themselves in the crosshairs of a supernatural cult with powers unlike anything they’re faced before. The Titans include Brenton Thwaites as Nightwing, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, and Joshua Orpin as Superboy. In addition to Titus Welliver as Lex Luthor, the new season also features Joseph Morgan as Brother Blood, Lisa Ambalavanar as Jinx, and Franka Potente as Mother Mayhem.

It remains to be seen whether Titans will return for a fifth season. Showrunner Greg Walker told Inverse last week that they’re still waiting to hear the word. “You know as much as I do… [we’re] in a wait-and-see mode,” Walker said. “We’re excited about this season. HBO Max is incredibly supportive of the show and really helping us become the show we want to be and get us in front of as many people as possible. If you’ve got an idea where it’s going, let’s meet and have a conversation because I want to know.

Titans will return to HBO Max with two episodes on November 3rd, followed by one episode weekly through to December 1st. Six additional episodes will follow in 2023. What did you think of the trailer for Titans season 4?
