Legendary singer and actress Tina Turner has passed away at the age of 83.

The Daily Mail reported on May 24 that Turner died peacefully on after “a long illness” in her home in Küsnacht, Switzerland.

“With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model,” reads a statement from her representatives.

Turner was considered the “Queen of Rock and Roll,” at one time holding the Guinness World Record for the largest paying audience for a solo performer. Some of Turner’s iconic hits include “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” “We Don’t Need Another Hero,” “Private Dancer,” and “The Best.” She also acted in several movies, including memorable roles in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and Last Action Hero.
