The House of the Devil (watch it HERE) and The Innkeepers (watch it HERE) director Ti West‘s new horror film X is now available rent on Premium VOD ( get more info HERE), and to mark the occasion distributor A24 has released a clip of the film’s opening two and a half minutes. You can see that clip in the embed at the bottom of this article.
Starring Brittany Snow (Would You Rather), Mia Goth (A Cure for Wellness), Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi (Bill & Ted Face the Music), Jenna Ortega (the new Scream movie), Martin Henderson (The Strangers: Prey at Night), Owen Campbell (Super Dark Times), and Stephen Ure (Deathgasm), X has the following synopsis:
In 1979, a group of young filmmakers set out to make an adult film in rural Texas, but when their reclusive, elderly hosts catch them in the act, the cast find themselves fighting for their lives.
Co-financed by A24 and Bron, X was produced by Jacob Jaffke, Kevin Turen, and Harrison Kreiss, with Sam Levinson, Ashley Levinson, and Peter Phok serving as executive producers.
Our own JimmyO gave the film an 8/10 review that you can read at THIS LINK. West has already shot a prequel called Pearl, but a release date for that has not yet been announced.
I didn’t catch X in theatres, so I’m hyped to be able to watch it at home this weekend… or possibly even tonight. X is also coming to Blu-ray on DVD on May 24th (copies can be pre-ordered on Amazon), with the following special features:
“That X Factor” Featurette
“The Farmer’s Daughters” Extended Scene
Have you seen X? If so, what did you think of it? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
Here’s the clip of the opening sequence, which is nice and mysterious. It keeps spoilers obscured… and keeps the bodies hidden under blood-soaked sheets.
