The Naked Gun is coming to 4K Ultra Blu-ray this November in celebration of its 35th anniversary.

Per ComicBook, the Leslie Nielsen-starring comedy classic The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! is getting both a 4K Ultra Blu-ray and a limited SteelBook release. Currently available for pre-order on Amazon and Walmart, the physical media releases arrive on November 28, 2023.

Directed by David Zucker and released by Paramount Pictures, The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! released theatrically on December 2, 1988. The film grossed approximately $152.4 million at the worldwide box office off an estimated $12 million budget.

What is The Naked Gun about?

“Celebrating 35 and 1/365th years, the hit outrageous comedy comes to 4K Ultra HD, for the first time ever, in this limited collector’s edition SteelBook,” the product description reads. “Leslie Nielsen reprises his POLICE SQUAD series character—granite-jawed, rock-brained cop Frank Drebin—bumbling across a mind control scheme to assassinate Queen Elizabeth. Priscilla Presley co-stars, in a hysterical comedic role, as Frank’s love interest in a blockbuster that could only come from the minds of Zucker/Abrahams/Zucker (AIRPLANE!). You’ve read the packaging, now buy the movie!”

Starring alongside Nielsen and Presley in The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! are Ricardo Montalbán, George Kennedy, and Jeannette Charles. O.J. Simpson, who was later arrested in 1994, also plays a small role at the beginning of the movie.

The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! was followed by two sequels, 1991’s The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear (directed by Zucker) and 1994’s Naked Gun 33 1⁄3: The Final Insult (directed by Peter Segal). Nielsen and Presley returned for both films.

The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! arrives on 4K Ultra Blu-ray and SteelBook on November 28, 2023.
