According to a recent report from Deadline outlining what fans can expect from the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con, Deadline mentions a handful of films that Marvel Studios is working on, including Fantastic Four, Blade, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Marvels, and a film they call The Mutants.

Currently, it’s unknown exactly whether this film will feature the iconic mutant group the X-Men, or perhaps just introduce the idea and concept of mutants in the world of the MCU.

For those unaware, the finale of Ms. Marvel includes a scene that reveals that Kamala Khan has different genetic makeup than most humans, with Bruno revealing to her that her DNA has a “mutation” in it, just as a riff of the iconic X-Men: The Animated Series theme song plays in the background.

That marked the first real utterance and acknowledgment of mutants in the MCU and essentially confirms that Khan is one of them. While it’s currently unclear exactly what the film will be, we do know of at least one mutant in the MCU now, and with SDCC right around the corner, fans might just end up knowing more by the end of the month.
