The Mandalorian season 3 welcomes Christopher Lloyd to the cast

[ad_1]

Over the past two seasons, The Mandalorian has managed to include quite a few notable guest stars and the latest season will be no exception. THR has reported that Christopher Lloyd has joined the cast of The Mandalorian season 3 is what’s being described as a guest star role.

In true Star Wars fashion, the exact nature of Christopher Lloyd’s role in The Mandalorian season 3 is being kept under wraps, but Doc Brown joining the Star Wars universe? Yes please. The third season is currently in production in southern California and is expected to launch on Disney+ later this year. Christopher Lloyd will join the ranks of Nick Nolte, Michael Biehn, John Leguizamo, Richard Ayoade, Amy Sedaris, Takia Waititi, Timothy Olyphant, Jason Sudeikis, Clancy Brown, Mark Boone Junior, Adam Pally, and more, all of whom have appeared on The Mandalorian either by lending their voice or appearing in the flesh.

We don’t know what The Mandalorian season 3 has in store for us, but executive producer Dave Filoni hinted last year that we may not have seen the last of the Jedi. “There’s a lot of new adventures coming up,” Filoni said. “I have to be careful, I can’t really say anything specific, but I think the Force will be strong with this, let’s just say that.” The Mandalorian showed up in the latter half of The Book of Boba Fett where he obtained a new starfighter and reunited with Grogu, setting the stage for the new season.

Before we get to The Mandalorian season 3, our next dose of Star Wars will be Obi-Wan Kenobi. The series begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. “Obi-Wan is lost,” McGregor has teased. “He’s a broken man after what happened with the Jedi order at the end of Episode III, but also what happened with Anakin; that he lost him to the dark side. He feels an enormous amount of responsibility for that, and guilt.” It will debut on Disney+ on May 25, 2022.
