A brand-new trailer for The Mandalorian season 3 just dropped during the NFL Wild Card Game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If you’re hungry for the return of one of the best live-action Star Wars projects out there — and who isn’t — then check out the trailer above!
It feels like it’s been far too long since that wonderful season 2 finale, which found Grogu leaving Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) to train as a Jedi Knight with Luke Skywalker. Since that last episode, we’ve seen the debut of several new live-action Star Wars TV shows, including The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Andor. As we saw in The Book of Boba Fett, Grogu ultimately decided to leave Skywalker’s school and rejoin Djarin, setting the stage for the third season. “The journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars galaxy continue,” reads the official synopsis. “Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.” The mention of the New Republic hints that the story might be getting even bigger in the new season.
As we see in the new Mandalorian season 3 trailer, the upcoming season will take us back to Mandalore, where Djarin hopes to be forgiven for his past transgressions. Now that Djarin is in possession of the Darksaber, which is typically wielded by the ruler of Mandalore, there might be some awkwardness there. Along with Djarin and Grogu, we can expect to see the return of Bo-Katan Kryse (Katee Sackhoff), The Armorer (Emily Swallow), Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), and Dr. Pershing (Omid Abtahi). In keeping with tradition, the series almost certainly has some big surprises in store. Pascal has previously teased that The Mandalorian season 3 is “even better than the previous one. It’s safe to say that you’re going to love it.“
A brand-new poster for The Mandalorian season 3 was also released earlier today, depicting Din Djarin and Grogu in the midst of a battle, with Djarin using his jetpack to escape while clutching Grogu in his arms. You can check that out below.
